Abstract

The invention comprises dyestuffs obtainable by treating with copper-yielding agents in an acid medium at above 100 DEG C. dyestuffs of formula A-N = N-B-N = N-C-N = N-D where A is a radicle of the benzene or naphthalene series, B a radicle of the benzene series, C a radicle of 1-amino-2-alkoxy-naphthalene-6-sulphonic acid and D a radicle of a 1-amino-8-naphthol, which may contain one or two sulphonic acid groups, which is coupled in o-position to the hydroxyl group and may be acylated at the amino group. Acetic acid is a preferred metallizing medium. The dyestuffs dye cotton and regenerated cellulose in dischargeable green shades. In examples cotton is dyed in green shades with copper complexes obtained from dyestuffs in which components A are aniline-4- and 2-aminonaphthalene-8-sulphonic acids, B are aniline and its 2-methyl and 3,5-dimethyl derivatives, C is 1-amino-2-ethoxynaphthalene-6-sulphonic acid and D are 1 - acetyl -, benzoyl - and (21 - chlorobenzoyl)-amino - 8 - naphthol - 3,6 - and 1 - amino - 8 -naphthol-2,4-disulphonic acids.
