803,155. Scarifiers. CATERPILLAR TRACTOR CO. Dec. 6, 1956 [Sept. 11, 1956], No. 37301/56. Class 107 A road or like ripper implement for attachement to a vehicle comprises a supporting bracket 11 secured to the vehicle, stabilizer links 15 and draft links 16 pivotally secured by pins 17, 18 respectively, to the bracket 11 and forming a parallelogram linkage arrangement of the pivot points, a ripper beam 19 adapted to receive ripper shanks 30 and connected by pivot pins 22 with the extending ends of the draft links 16. A hydraulic jack 23 for actuating the ripper implement is connected at pivots 24, 26 disposed within the confines of the said parallelogram linkage. The jack 23 has a cylinder with an extensible rod, the pivoting trunnions 24 extending therefrom and bearings 24a carried by a pedestal. 25 secured to the ripper beam 19 for the trunnions 24, a pivot pin 26 connecting bosses 27 on a support 28 joining the draft links 16 and the rod, which extends to swing the links and so raise the ripper beam.
