803,143. Grinding machines. SIELEMANN, H. Dec. 28, 1955, No. 37067/55. Class 60. A grinding machine has an inner column 4 and an outer column 5 carrying two independently adjustable grinding heads 7, 8, the outer column normally resting on conical surfaces 4a, 4b and being adapted to be lifted in relation to the inner column so that it can be easily swivelled manually or mechanically. The lifting is effected by a hydraulic cylinder 12 while three hydraulic cylinders, such as 14, ensure through spring-loaded levers 15 firm re-engagement of the conical surfaces after a swivelling operation. A shaft 9 driven from a motor in the base of the machine is connected by gearing in a housing 6 to mechanisms for adjusting the grinding heads in guide-ways 7a, 8a. The head 8 may be for internal grinding and the work table 3, which may support rotating or reciprocating work, is arranged to be angularly adjusted.
