In a fluid pressure governor in which a valve 8 coacting with an orifice 4g in a valve body 4 is secured to a diaphragm 7 and is loaded by a spring 11 or weights the parts are so disposed that the centre of gravity of the valve mass is positioned at the centre and in the plane of the diaphragm to eliminate any couple when the governor is mounted in an inclined position. Weights may be fitted to the valve to achieve this condition.
