Abstract

802,404. Road-vehicle spring suspensions; torsion rods. MASCHINENFABRIK AUGSBURG-NURNBERG A.G. April 23, 1956 [April 22, 1955], No. 12321/56. Classes 108(2) and 108(3) A road vehicle suspension comprises a through axle 1 rigidly secured to leaf springs 3, 3, both ends of each of which roll freely with respect to blocks 4 having lateral guides 5 for the spring ends, driving and braking forces being transmitted by means of guides 7 which are torsionally non-rigid, and are hinged at their ends respectively to the axle 1 and to a torsion bar stabilizer 12. Each guide 7 comprises a pair of spring leaves 8 spaced apart by a distance piece 9. The guides 7 are connected by means of rubber bush mountings 10, 10, to the axle 1, and are in splined connection with respective ends of the torsion rod 12 at their 'other ends. The torsion rod 12 is mounted on the blocks 4 by means or rubber bush mountings 13, 14. The torsion rod 12 is surrounded by a hollow intermediate brake shaft 15.
