801,812. Seed and fertilizer distributers. SOC. NATIONALE D'ETUDE ET DE CONSTRUCTION DE MOTEURS D'AVIATION. May 2, 1956 [May 2, 1955], No. 13594/56. Class 6(1). [Also in Group XXIX] A pulsatory combustion chamber 1 has an air intake duct 2, a fuel injection 3, and a gas discharge pipe 5 which opens opposite the admission orifice of an ejector 7 which is elbowed at 8 and oscillated within a bearing 9 about a horizontal axis. The spray product, i.e., a liquid, powder or seeds, which may be fed into the pipe 5 or into the intake of the ejector, is discharged from the ejector outlet and spread over a wide area. A tubular casing 25 lined with sound-proof material is attached to the outlet end of the ejector and oscillates with it. The combustion chamber &c. is housed within a casing 22 provided with an air admission passage 23, soundbaffling plates 24, and walls lined with soundproof material. A tube 21 has its outlet opposite the duct 2 and, in operation, gas is fed in pulses from the duct to the tube and to the interior of the casing 25 and prevents the accumulation of spray product therein. Powder and liquid to be sprayed are contained in tanks 17b and 20 respectively, and cooling water and fuel are stored in tanks 20a and 3b, 3c, respectively. Oscillation of the ejector is effected through a manually driven shaft 15 and a drive chain 12. The assembly is mounted upon a wheeled vehicle which also carries the conpressed air source, e.g., a motor-driven compressor for starting the pulsatory chamber.
