Abstract

801,012. Vermin traps. MACLACHLAN, W. S. K. Jan. 30, 1956 [Nov. 2, 1954], No. 31597/54. Class 5(1). The frame 1 of an animal trap comprises hoop-shaped bars 2 integral with a ground plate, and on the frame are pivotally mounted a platform 3 and a striker 7, the latter being biassed away from the ground plate by means of a spring 15. Also pivotally mounted on the frame is a catch 11 having a projection 14 which lies in the path of a curved projection 6 on the underside of the platform 3. The striker is held in the " set " position indicated by the dotted lines 7a in Fig. 1 by the catch 11 until an animal treads on the platform 3, whereupon the curved projection 6 swings upwards to contact the projection 14 and pivot the catch 11, and the striker is released, trapping the animal between it and the hoops 2.
