Abstract

664,144. Animal traps. ALSA (PROPRIETARY), Ltd. Dec. 31, 1948 [Feb. 6, 1948], No. 33616/48. Class 5(i) The bait-carrying lever 26, on being disturbed, knocks the spring-held animal striker 23 over the dead-centre position. The striker is carried by a U-shaped member pivoted slightly higher than the bar 21 to which the springs 24 are attached. The springs may be arranged either in tension or compression. The housing consists of two parts 10, 11 welded to cross-bars or plates 13, 14. A slot 12 permits movement of an extension 27 of the striker arm until it rests in the set position against an adjustable stop 18. The extension 17 of the striker arm is moved aside into a notch 17 to permit passage of the lever 26. A cutaway portion 16 allows the victim to get at the bait held between the ends 28, 29, of the lever 26. An opening in the floor allows the platform 28 to be lowered therethrough to receive bait.
