799,273. Paper for sterilizing &c. KLENK, H., [trading as HAKLE - WERKE H. KLENK] Dec. 16, 1954 [Dec. 16, 1953; Jan. 22, 1954; Oct. 22, 1954], No. 36453/54. Class 96. A web of paper, crepe paper, cellulose or cellulose wadding has a lightly adherent but frictionally detachable surface coating comprising a deodorizing, fungicidal or bactericidal chemical substance, an alkyl-aryl polyglycol ether or a wetting agent derived from a lipophilic or hydrophilic colloid, and a paper or textile size. Polychlorophenols, in particular 2,2<SP>1</SP> - dihydroxy - 3,5,6,3<SP>1</SP>,5<SP>1</SP>,6<SP>1</SP> - hexachlorodiphenylmethane may be used as the active chemical. The composition may be applied to the web as an emulsion or suspension, and may be sprayed on to or mixed with the material of the carrier web. Other additives include kieselguhr and comminuted fibres of the same material as those comprising the web.
