Abstract

798,869. Electronic circuit assemblies; printed circuits. ERIE RESISTOR CORPORATION. Oct. 29, 1956 [Nov. 14, 1955], No. 32879/56. Class 37. A sub-assembly comprises a plurality of cylindrical leadless components each held on an insulating strip by pairs of metal clips, each having arms outstanding from a base and attached to the strip by prongs which are passed through the strip and clinched. As shown, each clip 5 has two prongs 12 which are passed through adjacent holes 13 in the strip 6. Each component is spaced from the base 11 of the clip by a ridge 10 which may be omitted if the arms 9 and the prongs 12 are reversed. A network is formed by printed conductors on the underside of the strip to which contact is made by the prongs 12. Component end connections may be soldered to the clips before a plastic case is moulded around the sub-assembly, clips formed with a third prong 7 project beyond the moulding to provide plug-in connections.
