Abstract

798,715. Fluid-pressure brakes. BENDIX-WESTINGHOUSE AUTOMOTIVE AIR BRAKE CO. Sept. 14, 1956 [Sept. 21, 1955], No. 28204/56. Addition to 747,216. Class 103 (1). A closed circuit fluid pressure brake system of the kind described in the parent Specification wherein compressed air supplied from a reservoir 13 is returned to the suction side of pump 12 after passing through the plunger 40 of the control valve is adapted for application to a tractor-trailer combination, the actuators both on the tractor and trailer being arranged to be simultaneously supplied with compressed air at the pressure of the reservoir and to be exhausted to the inlet side of said compressor. A conduit 18, 21 leads from chamber 30 in actuator 14 to the relay valve 27 on the trailer where it governs the supply of air from reservoir 25 to the trailer brake cylinder 23.
