Abstract

797,886. Coating electric incandescent lamp bulbs. SIEMENS EDISON SWAN, Ltd. Jan. 11, 1955 [Jan. 11, 1954], No. 771/54. Drawings to Specification. Class 39(2) The bulbs or envelopes of electric incandescent lamps are provided with a light diffusing coating on their internal surface by burning an organo-titanium compound within them to form a fume or smoke of titanium dioxide which is deposited on the said internal surface. A jet of oxygen is directed around the flame produced by the burning of the organo-titanium compound, the apparatus employed being similar to that disclosed in Specification 688,601, and the preferred combustible compound consisting of butyl-titanate. Specifications 249,797, 254,316 [both in Class 93], 653,323 and 756,033 also are referred to.
