797,303. Belt fastenings. BELTFASTENERS, Ltd. Dec. 20, 1956 [Dec. 19, 1955], No. 36370/55. Class 80 (1). In a hinged belt fastening of intermeshing wire hook type the gap between each belt end 5 and the hinge pin 6 is filled by a resilient sealing strip 1 incorporating a stiffening element 2. The stiffened sealing strip can be handled in the manner of a self-supporting bar and is threaded through each row of hooks before insertion of the hinge pin. As shown, the strip 1 is of non-inflammable foamed polyisocyanate resin or other foamed plastic material and is of rectangular section. The stiffening element 2 comprises a strip of polyvinyl chloride sheet material bonded to the strip 1.
