796,784. Variable-speed gear. MIJANGOS, A. S. CALVO-. Dec. 22, 1954, No. 37090/54. Class 80 (2). [Also in Group XXXV] A reaction side-wheel 2 of a primary bevel planet train A, comprising also an input side wheel 1 and a planet-carrying output shaft III, is connected to the output shaft III through a gear pair 6, 7 driving the planet-carrier of a secondary bevel planet gear, one side-wheel 10 of which is directly geared to the output shaft III through a gear pair 18, 19, whilst the other side-wheel 9 is indirectly variably connected thereto through a wheel pair 12, 14, including an idler 13, and a slip coupling of the fluid, magnetic, or electromagnetic type, shows as an hydraulic torque-converter C, one element 15 of which is fast to the gear 14 whilst the other, 16, is fast to the output shaft III. A stationary guide-ring 17 is provided. The output shaft III drives the load through a forward-neutralreverse gear D. Output and input shafts III, I can be directly clutched together at 5 for solid drive.
