796,335. Crop sprayers. KENT ENGINEERING & FOUNDRY, Ltd. March 9, 1956 [March 9, 1955; June 30, 1955], Nos. 6927/55 and 18934/55. Addition to 749,286. Class 69 (3). The apparatus of the parent Specification is modified by providing means for oscillating the casings 13 and 13a, Fig. 2, of the two powerdriven centrifugal fans continuously around their axes so that the combined discharge therefrom is distributed over a wider angle. Furthermore, the said apparatus may be modified such that the two fan rotors are independently driven, one by power from an external source and the other by an auxiliary engine mounted on the apparatus. The casings are oscillated by a crank 31, Figs. 1 and 2, on a driven shaft 32, and connected by a rod 33 to a member 34 secured to the casing 13a. A series of holes is provided in the member 34 and a pin carried by the rod 33 can be engaged in any one of them according to the desired angular position of the fan outlets before starting the oscillation. The crank throw is adjustable by attaching the opposite end of the rod to any one of a number of holes arranged at different radii along the crank. The shaft 32 may comprise the agitator shaft for stirring the contents of the tank 11 and may be driven by an engine at the front of the machine or from the fan shaft. In Fig. 3 the fans have their rotors keyed upon separate shafts 23, 23a, the shaft 23 being driven from the power take-off shaft 36 of the tractor pulling the apparatus, and the shaft 23a being driven by an auxiliary engine 40. The fans may be driven in opposite directions.
