Abstract

795,975. Buildings, portable; roofs. TERRAPIN, Ltd. Oct. 8, 1956 [Oct. 18, 1955], No. 29685/55. Classes 20(1) and 20(4) A building comprises end frames 18 pivoted down flat at each end of a floor 15 and covered by a roof 20, so that the complete building parts can be lifted by a crane and cables 22 on a lorry for transport to prepared foundations 24, where a number of such buildings can be combined. When so combined adjacent end uprights 17, 18 are bolted together and covered by a facing board and the internal uprights will form columns. The end frames are then covered in with weather boards, windows, doors, &c. The end frames may previously be fitted with electric wiring and plumbing applied in the factory. The end uprights are each pivoted on a bolt 41 in a U-shaped bracket 39 attached to a floor longitudinal 30. When erected, other bolts 42 are inserted to hold the ends upright. The roof Fig. 10 comprises a pair of spaced wooden log backed girders spanned by purlins 51 and cross bars 52 to support the sheet material covering 54 and under covering 53 for the ceiling. Each corner carries fittings Fig. 12 to locate over a cone 64 carried on the side walls.
