795,770. Dashpots. SVENSKA AKTIEBOLAGET BROMSREGULATOR. Sept. 5, 1956, No. 27206/56. Class 108(3) [Also in Group XXXIV] In an oil-filled dashpot for use in a vehicle fluid pressure braking system in which a lower or higher braking effort is controlled by a valve 28 operating in response to the vehicle load, the dashpot spring 18 is supported from the bottom of the dashpot by an intermediate member 19 that is axially adjustable in relation to the bottom of the dashpot from the outside thereof in order to adjust the spring supporting member in the dashpot for an exact calibration of the spring and the choice of different leverages of the valve operating lever 8 to suit different vehicles requiring different values of load weight that has to be exceeded for shifting the setting of the brake from the lower to the higher braking condition. The spring supporting member 19 is threaded on a threaded portion 20 of a rotatable stem 21 which may be turned from the outside by a screwdriver for adjusting the axial position of the spring supporting member the latter being prevented from rotating by a pin 22 and locked against rotation by a lock nut 26.
