Abstract
795,489. Wire belt slings. BRITISH WEDGE WIRE CO., Ltd. Feb. 28, 1957 [April 3, 1956], No. 10072/56. Class 78 (4). The web of a woven wire sling is formed of closed links 11 connected in groups by transverse rods 12 and the web is connected to the end handles 14, 15 by end coils 10 passing through holes 17, 20 near the edges of the handles. As illustrated the rods 12 are welded to the ends of the flattened coils 11 to form hinges between the adjacent coils while an additional rod 13 is welded to the ends of the end coil 10 which may be circular or flattened in section. The holes 17, 20 are countersunk and the handle 15 has a slot 19 so that the handle 14 may be passed through it to form a choke hitch.
