Class 87(1) An acoustic panel comprises a perforate face member a of sheet metal and a backing d consisting of woven wire mesh corrugated or indented to provide a 3-dimensional backing of greater thickness than the wire mesh itself. The backing may comprise more than one layer of wire mesh with the corrugations in adjacent layers running parallel or transverse to each other. Strips of non-inflammable synthetic plastic material may be interposed between the backing and face members. The backing is secured to the face member by engagement with ilanges c on two edges of the face member; transverse straps may also be used as securing means.
