Abstract

794,930. Periodic reverse plating. MARCONI'S WIRELESS TELEGRAPH CO., Ltd. Aug. 7, 1956 [Nov. 25, 1955], No. 33834/55. Drawings to Specification. Class 41. In periodic reverse plating of a member, especially with copper from a cyanide bath, in which intervals occur between every plating and deplating period, A.C. is passed through the member at least during the interval between a deplating period and the following plating period. A.C. may be passed during intervals between the plating and following deplating periods as well, and also during said periods to give a rippling unidirectional current. The plating and deplating periods may be 35 and 15 seconds respectively with intervals of 5 seconds and the deplating voltage may be greater than the plating voltage. The A.C. may be provided throughout the cycle from a single source and the cycle is produced by switches operated by cams on a continuously driven shaft.
