Abstract

794,768. Jet propulsion plant. CAILLETTE, G. Jan. 19, 1956 [Jan. 25, 1955], No. 1811/56. Class 110 (3). [Also in Group XXXIII] A jet-propulsion plant comprises two jetpropulsion engines 2, 3 arranged coaxially with their air inlets facing each other. The rear engine 2 has a single propulsion nozzle 8, the direction of which may be adjusted for control purposes and the front engine 3 is provided with a bifurcated jet pipe 9, each branch of which terminates in a rearwardly directed nozzle 11. These also may be adjusted for control purposes and the flow of gas to the respective nozzles may be controlled by valve mechanism 16. When installed in an aircraft, air. intakes located on each side of the aircraft each connect with a duct 5, each divided into branches 6, 7 taken respectively to the engines 2 and 3. The airflow to respective engines may be controlled by valve mechanism 15 at the junction of each set of ducts 5, 6 and 7.
