A contact spring arrangement comprises, Fig. 2, an insulating base 1 having an inner circle of six contact-mounting pins 8 and an outer circle of twelve contact-mounting pins 31, wire contacts 7 carried by the pins 8 operating change-over fashion between pairs of upper and lower wire contacts 19, 25 carried by the pins 31. The wires 7 are biased to normally engage the upper wires 19 and movable conjointly by an armature-operated or manually-operated plunger 38, the actual contact being made between silver sleeves 7<SP>1</SP>, 19<SP>1</SP>, 251. In a further modified spring arrangement applied to a miniature relay, Fig. 3, the moving wire contact springs 7 are hair-pin shaped and biased to normally engage the lower wire springs 25 of the fixed contact pairs and are lifted to engage the upper springs 19 by an insulating actuator 38 fixed to the spring- biased magnetic plunger 39 of a solenoid 40. The solenoid has a core 44 and is surrounded by a magnetic can 42, the assembly being mounted on the insulating base 1 by a rod 41 and the contacts being surrounded by a transparent sleeve 46. The relay may be alternatively mounted by a threaded spigot 51.
