793,785. Electrical-component assemblies. ELECTRIC & MUSICAL INDUSTRIES, Ltd. Oct. 28, 1955 [Nov. 2, I954], No. 31588/54. Class 37. A chassis structure for supporting a plurality of electric components having leads 16, 17, comprises two parallel plates 1, 2, one of the plates having a number of small apertures 3, 4 therein through each of which passes one of the leads 17 and the other plate having at least one larger aperture 5 with which are associated passages leading to smaller apertures 6 so that a component may be mounted between the plates by inserting it through an aperture 5 with its lead 17 through one of the holes 3 or 4 and then moving its other lead into position within one of the holes 6. In the arrangement illustrated the plates 1, 2 are made of an insulating material and have printed circuits 10 formed thereon as described for example in Specification 602,492, the holes 3, 4 and 6 being surrounded by enlarged terminal portions of the circuit 10 to which the leads 16, 17 may be soldered. Alternatively the plates 1, 2 may be made of metal in which case certain ones at least of the apertures will have to be insulated. The plates 1, 2 may be held apart by metal plates which serve as screening members and fit into slots in the surfaces of the insulating plates. Fig. 5 shows an arrangement in which a metal tube is arranged between the plates 1, 2; this may be used to house a valve. Fig. 6 shows an arrangement comprising insulating supporting plates 43 carrying the stator portions 47 of a rotary switch actuated by a shaft 46.
