Abstract

793,592. Electronic frequency separating devices. STANDARD TELEPHONES & CABLES, Ltd. June 29, 1956 [July 1, 1955], No. 20162/56. Class 40 (6). An electron discharge tube forms part of a circuit for partial separation of widely spaced frequencies. The Figure shows the discharge tube 6 having a resistor 10 connected to the cathode and a resistor 14 and capacitor 16 effectively in parallel connected to the anode. The anode circuit presents a higher impedance to low frequencies than does the cathode circuit and thus when a composite signal is applied to the grid 5, the voltage at the anode contains a greater proportion of low frequencies. The anode circuit presents a low impedance to high frequencies than the cathode circuit and the cathode output voltage mainly consists of high frequencies.
