Abstract

792,336. Buttons. FAIGLE, C., and FAIGLE, E. Feb. 1, 1956 [Feb. 9, 1955], No. 3208/56. Class 43 A two part button comprises an upper part 1 which has embedded therein a base plate 3 carrying a solid cylindrical part 2 of rubber or other synthetic elastic material into which are pressed releasably pins 5 which project from a back plate 4, and which pass through a layer of clothing material 6 placed between the two parts of the button. The pins may be serrated or have teeth to increase the frictional grip and the upper and lower parts 1, 4 of the button may be of synthetic resinous material. As shown in Fig. 4, the pins 8 are formed by bent up ends of three steel wires 9 bent arcuately to engage under the flanged edge 12 of a base plate 11. Alternatively the pins 8 may be formed by stamping out and bending up tongues from a metal base plate.
