Abstract

826,006. Protectors securing. FUSSELL, E. G., and CHAMPION, C. B. March 29, 1956 [April 1, 1955], No. 9619/55. Class 17(3) A moulded top piece 1 comprises therein a base plate 2 and a protruding pin 5 by which it may be attached to the shoe heel. A collar 6 on the pin 5 has its shoulder 8 flush with the inner face of the top piece. The base plate 2 has holes 3 or a serrated edge so that it becomes keyed to the moulded material. In a modification the attaching pins 5 may be replaced by bulbuous pegs which engage recesses in the heel. The pins, base plate and collar may be integral or initially separate and a single perforated or recessed base plate may have numerous protruberances or pins.
