Abstract
791,701. Surgical pads. SCHOLL MANUFACTURING CO., Ltd., and LOWTH, L. C. Aug. 10, 1956 [Sept. 23, 1955], No. 27244/55. Class 81 (2). A metatarsal pad is formed from a blank consisting of two oval pad members 3, 4 joined by a neck 6. This blank is folded over at the neck so that the two parts 3, 4 form a double thickness pad and a toe loop 7 is secured to them at the neck. The loop may be made from tubular or flat material and the upper pad member 4 is preferably smaller than the lower one and has a serrated edge so as to provide a gradually reduced thickness towards the edge. The pad may be made from foam rubber faced with fabric such as nylon, silk or cotton cloth.
