Abstract

791,349. Spring power-storing mechanism. EVERED & CO., Ltd. July 6, 1956 [July 7, 1955], No. 19612/55. Class 10. [Also in Group XXXVIII] A fire alarm (see Group XXXVIII) comprising a bell of known type having a circular base plate and a gong 16 which is rotated to wind up a spring operating mechanism, is also provided with a flag indicator which moves out of the bell casing when the main spring is unwound. The flag comprises a plate 29 and is mounted on an arm 34 of a wire spring wound around a pillar 12 as shown in Figs. 1 and 9. A part 33 of this spring bears against the main spring 20, and the other end anchors around a front plate 14. In operation, when the alarm operates and the spring 20 unwinds the part 33 is angularly moved to show the flag 29, and when the spring 20 is rewound the coil spring 32 around the pillar 12 returns the flag to its covered position beneath the gong.
