Abstract

682,714. Measuring-tapes. STAMM, W., and STAMM, M., (trading as STAMM & CO.). June 1, 1950 [June 13, 1949], No. 13691/50. Class 106 (ii). A non-metallic measuring tape 4 is detachably secured to its winding reel 3 by introducing a terminal coupling 6 with an enlarged retaining head laterally into a correspondingly-formed slot 5 in the reel. The reel is journalled on a central pin 2 on a circular base 1, and the wound tape is enclosed by an annular cover 9 fitted to the base 1 and cut-away over a quarter of its circumference to give access to the tape. A retractable winding handle 7 may be mounted in a counterbored hole in the reel.
