Time alarms.-A device for giving an acoustic, optical or other signal at any predetermined times comprises a watch or other time keeping device 1, Fig. 1 provided on its periphery with an insulated ring 3 having a plurality of adjustable contacts 5 which can be brought into the path of a flexible contact blade 14 carried on the hour hand. As shown in Fig. 2, the ring 3 is made of rubber, fibre or other material and carries a conducting ring 4 of metal to which the contacts are pivoted by screws 6 the movement being limited by stops 7; the contacts may be constituted by rods slidable in a radial direction. The ring 4 is connected to one lead of an electromagnet 7 the other lead being connected to one terminal of a primary or other storage battery 10 mounted on an insulated support in the casing 2. The other battery terminal is connected to the casing and the watch casing is connected to a fixed contact 11 associated with the armature 12 of the electromagnet. The minute hand 15 may also co-operate with a contact to give a signal with greater precision for which purpose a ring with a contact is rotatably mounted around the watch dial. To render the device inoperative a push button or the like is provided, the operation of which breaks the circuit.
