Class 7(6) A liquid fuel metering device comprises a rotary valve d provided. with at least two parallel bores f in which shuttles g reciprocate between fixed end stops h and simultaneously adjustable end stops i, the fuel being discharged to the engine. cylinders through outlets c<SP>2</SP>, c<SP>4</SP>, alternately from either side of the shuttles by the pressure of the fuel supplied by a feed pump through ports in the valve d to the other side of the shuttles. The stops i are adjusted simultaneously by an abutment member adjusted by a screw m or by means responsive to induction pipe pressure. In the embodiment shown, for an eight-cylinder engine, each of the bores f is associated with four outlets; in a twelvecylinder engine the valve d is provided with three bores f.
