Abstract
791,253. Igniting burners. BOSCH GES. R. Sept. 27, 1955 [Oct. 2, 1954], No. 27434/55. Class 75(3) In a gas heated baking oven closed by a door 20 and having a burner (not shown) ignited by a high tension ignition system, preferably a magneto-electric generator 30, the door 20 is coupled to an electric switch so as to prevent actuation of the ignition system for lighting the oven burner when the door is closed. The oven burner is ignited by a spark gap formed between an electrode 18 facing an earthed metal part 19 and shown connected in series with a second spark gap formed between two insulated electrodes 16, 17 and adapted to light a pilot burner 15 associated with four hot-plate burners on the top of the oven. The switch comprises an arm 21, Fig. 3, secured to the door and having a projection 22 which, when the door is closed, engages a leaf spring 24 mounted on and insulated from the oven and connected to the electrode 18 of the oven burner spark gap. In another arrangement the switch is connected in parallel with the primary circuit of the magnetb 30 and in still another arrangement the switch is inserted in the primary circuit of the magneto and is opened when the door is closed.
