Abstract
974,973. Burners. M. CLAUSEN, [trading as DANFOSS VED ING. M. CLAUSEN]. Aug. 10, 1961 [Aug. 17, 1960], No. 28961/61. Heading F4T. A combined ignition and flame supervision apparatus comprises a transformer connected to a pair of electrodes 12, 13 of unequal area disposed in the flame of a burner, a D.C. relay 8 for fuel control connected into the primary or secondary circuit of the transformer and a capacitor 9 connected across the relay. In the presence of a flame a D.C. current component is generated between the electrodes and in consequence the relay 8 is energized. The electrodes 12, 13 are also used initially to produce a spark for ignition of fuel in a burner. To provide an increased voltage for sparking a resistance 5 in the primary ,circuit is shortcircuited by a switch 6 or part of the primary winding of the transformer is short-circuited. A negative characteristic resistance 10 may be connected across the relay 8 and capacitor 9 to absorb excess voltage across the capacitor.
