Abstract

790,944. Ramps on vehicles; roller conveyers. FISHER & LUDLOW, Ltd. Oct. 24, 1956 [Oct. 26, 1955], No. 30566/55. Classes 78 (1) and 78 (4). A portable ramp for facilitating the loading and unloading of a vehicle comprises a pair of longitudinal channel members 14 each having rollers 23, Fig. 5, mounted at each side to project above the top 15. The ramp is hung on a rail on the vehicle by hooks 21. When loading is to be done, the articles are pushed upwards along the rollers, Fig. 1, but when a vehicle is to be unloaded, the ramp is turned over, Fig. 2, and the articles slide down in frictional engagement with the surfaces 16. A part 13 of the ramp is mounted telescopically in the part 14. The latter part is approximately twice as long as the former. The longitudinal members are spaced by strip metal bracing members of Z-section.
