Abstract
790,105. Applying bands to bottle necks, &c. MEYER MANUFACTURING CO., G. J. July 23, 1956 [April 27, 1956], No. 22739/56. Class 125 (2). In apparatus such as described in Specification 746,653 in which a shrinkable band D is slid off a plunger 50 on to a capped bottle neck N by a descending sleeve 43, the sleeve descends under its own weight to apply the band until fingers G abut the cap C so that the band is applied at the same position irrespective of variation in the bottle height. The sleeve is raised by a reciprocated lever 38 having a lost-motion connection 61, 65 with the sleeve to permit variation in the range of movement of the latter.
