Abstract

790,026. Magnetic fastenings. ROSENMUND VORM L. ROSENMUNDRITTER, L. & H. Nov. 23, 1955 [Nov. 26, 1954]. No. 33582/55. Class 44 [Also in Groups XIV and XXXV] A bendable "stay-put" arm has, at one end, a mirror in which to view the site of a weld in steel structures, pipe lines &c. and has, at the other end, magnetic securing means consisting of two C-shaped magnets pivotable relatively to each other on a common axis so that the end faces fit on a plane, prismatic or cylindrical surface of the steel structure. As shown, a mirror 1 and pin 6 are secured to opposite ends of a metallic hose 4, magnets 7 being pivotally mounted on the pin 6 by clips 9. A rod 31 spaces the hose from the heat of welding. In a modification the metal hose is replaced by short rods connected by ball joints.
