Abstract

786,623. Centrifugal clutches. FICHEL & SACHS AKT.-GES. April 6, 1956 [April 7, 1955], No. 10538/56. Class 80 (2). The flyweights 1 of a centrifugal friction clutch are secured to the driving member 13 by axial leaf springs 3. The springs 3 are secured to a substantially hexagonal sheet steel housing 6 bolted to the driving disc 13 at one end, and are secured to the flyweights 1 at a point distant from the centre of gravity of the weight to ensure the flyweights moving purely radially into contact with a driven drum 8. Springs 12 on studs 10 screwed into the flyweights are adjustable to set the engaging speed or pressure of the clutch. Some flyweights may have a lighter loading to promote smooth initial engagement.
