Abstract
<PICT:0786272/III/1> <PICT:0786272/III/2> <PICT:0786272/III/3> <PICT:0786272/III/4> A reaction vessel 10 is suitable for determinations involving the addition of a small quantity of fluid to a larger quantity of another fluid, e.g. the determination of oxygen in water, where it is desired to exclude contaminating atmospheres during the fluid introduction. The vessel 10, comprises optionally tap 11 or valve 22 (Fig. 4), which is used to fill the vessel, and essentially a three-way cock 12 (Figs. 2 and 3), which connects the atmosphere inlet 18 via a hole 15 in the hollow plug 14 to the inside of the vessel, or in the other position of the cock (Fig. 2) connects the inlet 18 with a by-pass 19 to allow filling of the inlet to the exclusion of gas. The inlet may be a capillary tube marked so that a known volume of liquid can be drawn into vessel by devices 11 or 22.
