786,057. Luggage carriers for vehicles. SEWARD, J. C. June 22. 1955 [March 22, 1954], No. 8349/54. Class 103(2) A luggage carrier for the top of a vehicle has crossbars A and longitudinal bars K and P, and one or more collapsible roof seats incorporated in the framework as permanent attachment thereto and adapted to be folded down when not in use between and below the level of the bars P. In the construction shown, each rear seat comprises side members E hinged at L to a crossbar B and side members M adapted to engage in hook members C welded to a crossbar. The side members are retained in the hook members by means of thumb screws.
