785,233. Cathode-ray tubes. PHILIPS ELECTRICAL INDUSTRIES, Ltd. March 1, 1955 [March 4, 1954], No. 6026/55. Class 39(1). A cathode-ray tube has three electron guns producing beams which are substantially coplanar the two outside guns being associated with deviating systems 11, 12 so that the two beams intersect the third beam at target incidence 15. The axes of the guns may be substantially parallel, or they may be inclined to intersect on the viewing screen, the deviating means in this case giving fine adjustment of the intersection and correcting for aberration during scanning. Deviations of the outside beams from the plane are corrected by external magnets, and the central beam is screened, e.g., by making one electrode of ferromagnetic material.
