Abstract

784,804. Poultry-batteries. PATCHETT, Ltd., R. J. June 11, 1956 [June 23, 1955], No. 18144/55. Addition to 724,161. Class 5(2). In a poultry-battery as described in the parent Specification, wherein a carriage 3, fitted with food-troughs is moved back and forth along a line of cages by a unidirectionallydriven endless cable 13, the carriage is coupled to the cable by a bracket 14 articulated to a link 16 whose opposite end is pivoted to a member 19 slidable between stops 23, 23A on a rail 24 secured to the carriage. The ends of the cable are clamped by shoes 21 so as to produce an endless run passing around pulleys 9 on the fixed cage structure 1. The link has a pin and slot connection 17, with the slider 19 on the rail 24. At the ends of the travel of the carriage the cable and bracket 14 pass around the pulley 9 as permitted by the pin and slot 17, and the carriage is. stationary until the slider 19 is advanced by the rearwardly-moving bracket 14 to engage the other stop, the stops being relatively adjustable to control the duration of this pause.
