Abstract

782,587. Weighing apparatus. AUTOPACK, Ltd. Feb. 2, 1956 [Feb. 18, 1955], No. 4880/55.. Class 143 In; an automatic feed weigher the influence of a lever 8 bearing on the weigh beam 5 is adjustable by moving the fulcrum 8a of the lever in a direction to move the lever longitudinally. The lever which is used either to compensate for the material in suspension at cut off, or to adjust the speed of movement of the weigh beam under load, engages beneath a roller 7 supported in a bracket 6 secured to the beam, and is provided with an adjustable poise weight 9. Movement of the fulcrum 8a is effected by a graduated knob 16, a flexible shaft 15, an axially fixed screw 11 and a bracket 10 which is held against rotation by means of a sliding connection with a rod 14 arranged parallel with screw 11. In a modification (Figs. 3, 4, not shown) the bracket 10 is slid along a rod against the action of a helical spring by a Bowden cable which is tensioned by a cam rotated by a graduated knob.
