Abstract

782,330. Vibratory mechanism. PREPARATION INDUSTRIELLE DES COMBUSTIBLES. Oct. 25, 1955 [Nov. 18, 1954], No. 30512/55. Class 80 (4). A vibrating device is in the form of a tubular member 1 rotating on a fixed axle 4 and having internally arranged out-of-balance weights 13, 14, 15, 16 secured thereto. The member 1 may serve as a pulley to be driven by a belt 20 and its axis is offset in relation to the axle 4 by an amount equal to the vibrating radius of the device in order to maintain a constant belt tension. The weight 16 may be replaced to adjust the amplitude of the vibrations imparted. The unbalanced weight may be partly or wholly of shot, powder or liquid in which case the chamber containing such mass is circular and eccentric to the tube so that resistance to starting up of the device is reduced. The tubular member may be provided with a V-pulley or toothed gear for driving by a V-belt or gearing.
