Abstract

782,160. Two-part couplings. POLLAK, H. O. March 29, 1955 [April 22, 1954], No. 11693/54. Class 38 (1). A tubular socket is cut longitudinally and transversely to form two parts 1a, 1b which are resiliently held in assembled relation by a spring member 7 fitting over the socket and comprising a thin-walled sheath slotted at 9 over a substantial portion of its length to form spring tongues 7a, 7b which bear on the parts 1a, 1b. The exterior of the socket and interior of member 7 are tapered and the sheath is retained on the socket by a screw-threaded peg 11 which also prevents withdrawal of the socket part 1b. This construction may be applied to a pin, in which case a spring member with tapering tongues is disposed inside a longitudinallydivided tubular pin.
