Abstract
781,655. Valve accessories. PORRINGER & SCHINDLER GES. Nov. 16, 1954, No. 33099/54. Class 135. In a gate valve comprising a gate member 4 slidable between seat rings 5, 6 mounted in annular recesses in the valve body 1, the seat rings are urged into sealing contact with the gate member by a number of resilient bodies distributed around the periphery of each seat ring. Each resilient body comprises a plurality of plate springs 7 threaded on a guide bolt 8 which abuts a common abutment ring 9 and is mounted with axial clearance in a bore 10 in the seat ring. The ring 9 is backed by a metal ring 11 and a resilient ring 12 mounted in a body recess, the ring 12 being sealingly pressed against a tubular portion of the seat ring.
