781,071. Folding chairs. ANSTEAD, C. D. R. April 6, 1955 [March 2, 1954; May 11, 1954], Nos. 6073/54 and 13689/54. Class 52(2) A deck chair with frames forming front and rear leg members 10, 12 connected by cross-bars 11, 13 and pivoted at 14 and having a supporting strut member 15 consisting of side elements 16 pivotally connected at 17 to the front leg members and connected by a cross bar 18 the legs 12 being notched, has the strut member provided with brackets 24 having projections .25 which move beneath flanges of guide members 22 having a downwardly inclined ,portion 23 to urge the crossbar into the lowermost notches 19 and prevent collapse of chair if the bar 18 becomes disengaged from other notches. In a modification brackets 24 are replaced by grooves in the rear legs.
