Abstract

781,052. Tie bars for shuttering for casting walls. KWIKFORM. Ltd. April 1, 1955 [April 9, 1954; Nov. 11, 1954], Nos. 10432/54 and 32627/54. Class 20(2) The tie bars 26 are screwed to shuttering 32 for casting concrete walls by a threaded member 14 passing through the shuttering and engaging a nut 21 adapted to be turned to tension the tie bar in a housing on the shuttering formed by a flanged sleeve 19 and a plate 16, the member 14 engaging the end of the bar by a nut 25. The member 14 passes through a vertical shuttering aligner bar 10. having a cross bar 12 to which the housing 16, 19 is attached by studs 15. If a tie is not required the tie-securing parts are replaced by a plate secured by the studs 15 and having a peg which fills the hole 29 in the aligner bar. The arrangement is also applied to tie bars connecting clamping members for shuttering, the upper ends of which and the tie bars being above the wall being cast, Figs. 4, 5 (not shown).
