Abstract

1,072,594. Shuttering for casting walls. L. G. TAYLOR. May 17, 1965 [Oct. 2, 1964], No. 20677/65. Heading E1S. A spacer for wall shuttering comprises a tapered tube 2 having tapered members 3 screwed on each end and engaging the shuttering 5, a tie 12 holding the shuttering against the spacer and passing through the tube and members 3 or two short ties are screw threaded into the ends of the tube. The screw threads on the ends of the tube are proud of the surface so that inner extensions of the members 3 enclose the tube 2 inside the threads. The threaded ends of the tube 2 may be detachable. The members 3 and the tube 2 are removed from the concrete after setting.
