Abstract
780,170. Pulse discriminating circuits. KOLSTER-BRANDES, Ltd. Nov. 3, 1954, No. 31765/54. Class 40 (6). In a television circuit for separating frames synchronizing pulses from line pulses the mixed pulses are applied to a valve 1 having in its anode circuit an inductor 4 having a time constant at least as long as the frame pulses and connected in parallel with a rectifier 6 poled so as to carry part of the anode current of the valve, the voltage across the inductor being applied to a voltage clipper to obtain pulses coincident with the end of each frame pulse. The synchronizing pulses render the valve conducting and a current builds up in the inductor 4. At the end of the pulse the voltage at the anode of the valve swings positively to a value which is larger after a frame pulse than after the line pulse. Accordingly the frame pulses may be separated by the clipper. A second inductor 5 having a short time constant and in parallel with a reversely connected diode 7 produces a pulse at the point 10 when the line synchronizing pulses cause the valve to become conductive, accordingly line synchronizing pulses may be obtained from point 10. The diode 7 prevents a pulse of opposite polarity being produced at the end of the line pulses.
