Oct. 27, 1955, No. 30725/55. Class 97(3) In an apparatus for measuring, for example, the castor angle or camber of vehicle road wheels, in which a base member has a standard carrying an angularly movable measuring arm beside each of two turntables, the standards can be independently turned about an axis approximately through the centres of the turntables and can be secured in any angular position. Only one turntable 2 is shown and feelers 3 on measuring arm 4, which is preferably connected to the standard 8 by means of an intermediate arm 7, slidable and rotatable in clamping sleeve 9, make contact with the rims of the tire on wheel. The angular position of arm 4, about an axis at right angles to arm 7, is indicated by pointer 6 on protractor 5 attached to arm 7. The camber angle is measured with the arm 4 in a vertical position. Standard 8 is slidable in, as well as rotatable about, clamping sleeve 10.
